The United States Constitution: Article I, Section 9, Clause 8 is called the emoluments clause. It says:
“No Title of Nobility shall be granted by the United States: And no Person holding any Office of Profit or Trust under them, shall, without the Consent of the Congress, accept of any present, Emolument, Office, or Title, of any kind whatever, from any King, Prince, or foreign State.”
It was given notice immediately with and upon the swearing-in of the first President as he addressed the first quorum of the First Congress of the United States of America:
This then from President George Washington’s Inaugual Address, April 30, 1789 before the literally just assembled Congress of the United States- assuring its members he would accept, receive and employ only the resources lawfully given him by Congress in bills from the House of Representatives, the body of our government with sole constitutional authority to initiate revenue and spending legislation.
“To the preceding observations I have one to add, which will be most properly addressed to the House of Representatives. It concerns myself, and will therefore be as brief as possible. When I was first honored with a call into the service of my country, then on the eve of an arduous struggle for its liberties, the light in which I contemplated my duty required that I should renounce every pecuniary compensation. From this resolution I have in no instance departed; and being still under the impressions which produced it, I must decline as inapplicable to myself any share in the personal emoluments which may be indispensably included in a permanent provision for the executive department, and must accordingly pray that the pecuniary estimates for the station in which I am placed may during my continuance in it be limited to such actual expenditures as the public good may be thought to require.”
That is as it stood the first day we were a constitutional nation and how it has been for the most part. When it has not been there have been congressional and criminal investigations and charges as there should be.
Now, today? Not anymore.
Now Trump is president and, like the rest of this foundational document, the emoluments clause of the Constitution has been blown assunder as this thief, grifter, extortionist, briber, spreads his mental disease across America aided and abbetted by the scum with which he has populated the American government.
Qatar spent a decade trying to get rid of that plane. Now they have – with a $400 million up-yours to you from the chief violator of your Constitution.
The extortionate dinner at the Trump country club, attended by nameless and un-named gansgters, crooks, users and fixers, who have lined the pockets of the Trump family with hundreds of millions of of bribed dollars was what, is what?
It is pure, deep-shit graft – venal, sordid, colossal corruption – the financial sewage, political sludge, and inherited family money disease that flows through the artery of filth that is the Trump family and crusts the putrid veins of the tawdry trash Trump administration.
They say, “This too shall pass.”
Well, it won’t. It never will. It never can. It never can be allowed.
