Between 2011 and just now I lived in Brooklyn or North Jersey just near the city. I went to Broadway shows, off-Broadway shows, the NYC Ballet, and to see other dance companies, danced myself with a partner under the stars, enjoyed the NY Philharmonic, went to the BAM and the many great museums New York.
During 2015 and 2016 I made a point of looking through the back of the book, the back of all the programs, I mean all them, looking at the lists of benefactors, donors, supporters — you know from the biggest to the constant.
From the biggest Wall Street and finance firms, Morgan Stanley, Blackstone, Goldman Sachs, all of them and their chairs and partners; to the famous names of NY like Rockefeller and Bloomberg for example and oh, yes, those awful Kochs one of whom has his name on a building at Lincoln Center, which costs a lot, a whole lot, and his name also on the new plaza at the front of the Metropolitan Museum, which cost plenty more, they are all there. Almost all there.
The Kochs’ politics are, to me, horrendous. Their comprehension of the civic duty of wealth and heir consequent contributions, however, are up to snuff and then some even though we are loath to admit it and may accuse them of buying grace if not favor. But they give and they give a lot.
So, they are all there. All the great names and families and companies that make New York.
All but one.
You can look through every program for the past 10 years, probably for all the years, and there is one name you will not see, will never see and has just never been there.
The name is TRUMP. Not him; not his children; not his in-laws — not the name Trump, not the crumb-bum crummy, cruddy name Kushner. None of them, none of them, none of them — not a single Trump gives a thin dime to support the culture and arts of the City of New York that make the City of New York that which it is — that MADE THEM what and who THEY CLAIM to be.
None of them.
They, the TRASH TRUMPS, give nothing to no-one and nothing.
He doesn’t like the New York State Attorney General’s civil suit against aimed at his completely phony, scam of a charity? His Three Card Monti charity?
Well he can stick it up his you know what, because he is the single most uncharitable creature in the United States.
He is a filthy pig. Like a rat, a dirty, slimy, scheming parasitic user.
He even uses poor suckers’ money to make himself look generous.
If you gave a dime to the TRUMP Foundation then it’s more than he ever gave. If you gave to it then you are either 1) a completely stupid sucker; or, 2) more likely gave because you were looking for a contract that eventually you got cheated on by 80 percent — in which case you got taken twice.
You gave.
He took the deduction.
No-one of his supposed standing and economic resources in the City of New York does not contribute to the great cultural institutions of that city: to the Mets — not the ball club, the museum and opera; the NYC Ballet; the Alvin Ailey School and Company; Carnegie Hall; the New York Philharmonic; the Frick; the Jewish Museum; the Neue Gallerie; the Guggenheim; the Whitney; the Museum of the City of New York; the Brooklyn Museum; BAM (Brooklyn Academy of Music for those of you who don’t know so much about New York except its steak houses); never mind the hundreds upon hundreds of smaller theater, dance and music ensembles and companies.
Only one man and one family, who claim to be in that lofty universe of New York City wealth, gives not a dime, not a thin dime to support that which makes New York City the unique place it is, it’s devotion to all things cultural.
“Buddy can you spare a dime?”
If you ask that of TRUMP he asks you for the dime — then he claims he gave it and, no doubt, takes a dime’s deduction on the tax returns he won’t let anyone see because, like Al Capone, he is a what? He is a gangster in every way.
Look at Ivanka and Jared, the two little piggies: Understand that the only real word they know and speak is oink, oink, oink, oink…
They wouldn’t know how to help another human being, support a human cause of any kind, including culture, because they don’t, they won’t, they never have.
They are like the father/father-in-law — creatures utterly devoid of conscience, made insensate by grasping greed, by despicable avarice.
We are all who we came from. Jared and Ivanka are who they come from –on both sides. On both sides they are from the depths of indecency and indifference to humanity and to human life, to human need and suffering.
Their names will be a curse upon their children, their grandchildren, unto their great-grandchildren unless; unless one of their next generations gets smart and has no children to end the curse.
Next time you are in New York — at any cultural venue — look at the back of the book, the back of the program — look through the lists of all those who give and gave.
I guarantee, guarantee that there will be name after name that you recognize but one name you will never, ever, ever, never, ever see.
That name s TRUMP. The place in the City of New York where you will see it is atop a guilty tower of gilt.
Otherwise, in the City of New York? It shares the sewers and the subway tracks with the other unutterable inhabitants of the city: With the rats, those slimy, oily, infected creatures from which we shrink and shudder in horror; thinking them among the most horrid of all creatures — all creatures not great and very small. And very awful.
